I’ve been doing things like this all my life, and I thought I’d share it with everybody. The DIY upcycling community seems to be all over the place online. Please comment with any suggestions, ideas, links, and shameless flattery. My one request is that you not complain about the low-res images; I’m sorry the best camera in my household is the webcam on my laptop, but it is. If you don’t like it, buy my stuff so I can afford a real camera.
ReadyMade Magazine (RIP) liked to say they were out to kill the myth of the maker-as-artist; these are all projects that anybody can make. I’m just the concept guy. However, if you wanted to buy some of this stuff to save yourself some time or effort, hit me up; I will gladly sell out.
Besides this sort of thing, I also do a web-comic about cyborg adventures and romance called Commedia 2Xoo and another about whatever I happen to think of at the time called Factoid Fist, as well as jury-rigged electro (or “eclectro”) at SoundCloud. Over the years, I have also dabbled in painting, sculpture, novel-writing, video game concept art, movies, and a brief stint in the local theatre. I’m a Renaissance man!
And since I know you’ll ask:
* Cromulent: (adj) suitable, acceptable, good. Coined by the writers of “The Simpsons”.
* Bricoleur: (n) one who creates bricolage, or assembles things into other things.
